At the May luncheon the Kittyhawk Post was honored to present 7 of our 11 scholarships for 2019 to local students pursuing degrees in STEM! This of course, was accompanied with many Post awards and an excellent presentation on Bourbon Barrel Rickhouse Assessment by Mr. Kyle Beasley. Without further ado, here are the scholarship winners!
Ryan Foreman, a dual enrolled student at Turpin High School & University of Cincinnati will major in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He was presented the Barnes Scholarship by Post President Joe DiMisa. He’s pictured with mom, Tonya Foreman.
Ryan Campbell is a graduating senior at Carmel High School and will major in Chemistry at the University of Notre Dame. He was presented the Barnes Scholarship by Post President Joe DiMisa and is pictured with parents Norm and Beth Campbell.
Jasmine Hughes, a rising sophomore in Chemical Engineering at Purdue University and repeat scholarship winner, was presented the Barnes Scholarship by Post President Joe DiMisa. She’s pictured with parents Nirmala and Brian Hughes and brother Joshua Hughes.
Nate Kurtz, a recent graduate of Bellefontaine HS, received the Kolber Family scholarship, presented by Post President Joe DiMisa. He plans to study Construction Engineering at North Carolina State University. He’s pictured with his mom, Julie Kurtz.
Through the generosity of LJB Inc. Jacob Riffel was awarded the LJB Inc. Scholarship by Pete Battaglia. Jacob is graduating from Miamisburg HS and plans to major in Computer Science and Engineering at the Ohio State University. He’s pictured with mom, Melissa Riffel.
Through the generosity of Woolpert Inc. Emery Monnig was awarded the Woolpert Inc. Scholarship by David Ziegman. Emery is a repeat scholarship winner. He is a rising sophomore in Chemical Engineering at the Ohio State University. He’s pictured with parents Greg and Laurel Monnig.
Kevin Fillingim, a recent graduate of Centerville HS, received the Turek Family scholarship, presented by Nadja Turek. He plans to study Environmental Engineering at the Ohio State University. He’s pictured with his parents Patrick Fillingim and Felicia Potok
