Dayton AIA Focus on Design Lecture Opportunity

SAME Kittyhawk post is invited to attend theAIA Dayton Focus on Design Lecture with Eric Kivett, Senior Manager in Research and Development of Spirit AeroSystems, Wichita, Kansas, on Thursday, November 16.  Eric is an Aerospace Engineer with over 25 years of industry experience and a passion for aviation. Prior to joining Spirit AeroSystems, he held multiple roles at Hawker Beechcraft and McDonnell Douglas.

Eric’s presentation is entitled “Aerospace and Architectural Design, A Shared Language.”  He will share his experience of aerospace design, demonstrating an affinity of the design language of architects. The design languages can be different but project scope, owner’s needs, budgets, use of space, form derived from function and use of high tech modern materials to achieve a functional envelope are but a few of the common elements that process behaviors acting inside the shared language of design.

The lecture is being held at the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Park, Wright Dunbar Interpretive Center, 16 South Williams Street, Dayton.  A reception will be held from 5:30 – 6:30 PM, followed by Eric Kivett’s lecture.  AIA CES credit of 1.0 LU has been approved for the lecture.

General admission for the event is $35.  Below is a link to the registration page. Please distribute this to your membership.
