April Lunch Recap

Thanks to everyone who attended or otherwise supported this month’s luncheon at the Montgomery County Administration Building!

This month, we were given a presentation by Scott LeBlanc of ODOT on the I-75 interchange project in Dayton that finished in September 2016. The presentation focused on some of the unique contracting techniques and strategies to partner with the contractor. Thanks again Scott!

Kittyhawk Post members Nadja Turek and Scott Porter selected two science fair projects for Post awards as volunteer judges at the West District Science Day, held at Central State University on 18 March. The winners were chosen for having the best engineering and environmental projects.

Cathryn Leies won best engineering project for her work, and Madeleine Sanders received the Eric Su Yong Goltz Award for the best environmental project for her study titled “The Effect of Protective Coatings for Limestone Structures.” Both women are 9th graders at Carroll High School and were able to attend the Post’s April meeting to receive their awards and present their projects. Congrats to our science fair winners!
